Mini Marshmallow dress pattern details
Yes! After months of hard work and requests from some lovely customers and keeping it all a secret (it was haaaard, hehe), we launch our first pattern for kids, the Mini Marshmallow Dress, a version for girls age 3 to 12 of the popular Marshmallow Dress for women.
The dress maintains the lovely trapeze shape, with a fun ruffle at the bottom, Peter Pan collar and optional bow, long button placket at the back, pockets and three sleeve options: 3/4, short and sleeveless, so depending on the fabric you choose, it can be worn all year around.
Although the dress keeps its sweet design, we have of course altered the pattern pieces so that they fit the different stages of growth and development of a child from the age of 3 to 12. Some lovely testers have worked with us to improve the final pattern pieces so that the fit works as best as possible.
Another change on the design has been the removal of the facing pieces to finish the neckline. When launching the Marshmallow Dress, some customers suggested that finishing this part with bias tape gave a much cleaner look and as we wanted to make the sewing process as easy going as possible, now the Mini Marshmallow comes without facing, but with detailed instructions on how to finish the neckline with bias tape instead.
The new pattern comes with customized instructions, measurement charts for kids and of course, technical drawings that will guide you through all the steps to make the dress. Like the rest of the CocoWawa Sewing Patterns, the Mini Marshmallow Dress is sold as a PDF pattern with a 'copy shop' version to skip the assembling part and the usual 'print at home' option on A4.
There's also a KIT option available in English and Spanish, so that you can get both the Mini Marshmallow for kids and the Marshmallow for adults at the same time 😊
