Kits and Alternative Layouts - Cutting Corners

Other Cutting Corners Quilt pattern options and kits

Hi lovely quilters!

this post is all about alternative layouts for the recently released Cutting Corners Quilt pattern (perfect for beginners!), which fabrics I used for the two samples I made for the launch and! where you can find kits ready to go to make your own version of the pattern :) And remember, it is fat quarter friendly!

The samples

I am starting with the version I also used as guideline for the instructions. All the fabrics for this small throw quilt top are Pure Solids from Art Gallery, kindly provided by the UK based shop Sew and Quilt. Jessica, the lovely owner, is also selling kits carrying the exact same colours and that you can find in her shop.

  • Festival Fuchsia
  • Rock Candy
  • Turmeric
  • Wisteria
  • Ocean Fog

The backing I went for is this beautiful Ruby Star Society fabric from their 'Reading Nook' collection and the binding is also from Ruby Star, from the 'Hole Punch' collection.

The second version (small throw size as well) is another stunner if I say so myself! ;) Jo, from another gorgeous online fabric shop based in the UK called A Beautiful Thing, also kindly provided the fabrics for this quilt top. All of these fabrics are Ruby Star Society from their collection 'Sketchbook'. She is also selling kits with the exact same fabrics and that you can findin her shop.

Apart from these two shops, you will also be able to find kits at the beautifully curated Floyd the Fox, based in Germany. Her owner Helen has created four beautiful kits that you can find right now in her shop! You can find below the mock-ups we have made for you to get an idea of how these quilts would look.

The fabrics used come from the Kindred and Haven Art Gallery collections.

Also in Germany, I have worked with Ursula from the super quilting shop Kleinkariert Stoffversand (their selection is huge!) to create holiday inspired kits for those wanting to get ready for Christmas ;)

Last, I am incredibly excited to be working with Canadian based shop Monkland Quilt Studio and their lovely owner Rebecca, who's providing kits for all quilters based in North America and that you can find in two sizes, small and large throw (check mock-ups below).

The fabrics used for these kits come from the 'Wandering' collection by amazing fabric designer Stephanie Organes for Andover Fabrics.
