Meet the Coconut Pyjamas Sewing Pattern

Make a pair of super cute and easy pjs!

The lovely Coconut Pyjamas sewing pattern features a delicate and feminine design offering two different options to choose from, that can be interchanged as you wish.

Have you never made a pair of Pjs before? This is your chance! Coconut is perfect for beginners and very easy to fit thanks to the loose, comfy shape and elasticated waistband (always a win!).

You will also learn a few new sewing techniques like creating a casing using bias tape, how to use a rolled hem foot or to sew slant pockets the CocoWawa way. And if you are and advanced maker, the Coconut Pjs sewing pattern will be a total piece of cake.

In addition, you will be able to wear your Coconut Pyjamas all year around depending on the fabric you go for. These are some of our favourites: cotton, lawn, rayon, linen, double gauze, crepe, flannel and chambray. We also encourage the use of natural fibres if possible.

Now, keep reading to discover all the versions and options available.

Cosy and cute pjs all year around

Version A comes with long sleeves and trousers with slant pockets. The collar features a casing with elastic that creates a lovely ruffle effect, which is also repeated on the sleeves. This can be achieved as well with the shirring technique (follow this link to know more). On the other hand, you can adapt the tightness of the elastic to your desire. For example, some of our testers -who were unsure of this option to wear in bed- were happily surprised as the neck doesn't sit high at all and it is very comfortable to wear.

Pyjamas for the Summer months

Version B is perfect for the hotter months of the year. This alternative comes with short sleeves and shorts (also with pockets), both decorated with the same elastic casing method which is hidden on the wrong side of the fabric -achieved in a similar way using shirring.

In this case, the collar is also elasticated without creating the ruffle effect, but a collar option is added on top. Having said this, all elements are interchangeable.

Are you looking for something more simple?

You can also go for a simpler version by leaving out the added collar or the ruffle on the sleeves or trousers, making it your own. In addition, you can also totally wear both tops as daytime tops! Imagine the possibilities and how cute these two blouses would look with a skirt or jeans. Take a look below!
