Inspiration for your Plum Dress

Find inspiration to make your own Plum Dress

Need a bit of babydoll dress inspiration for your Plum sewing pattern? You have come to the right place! The new CocoWawa sewing pattern is super comfy and perfect to make and wear all year around depending on the fabric you go for. It features a drop shoulder, 3/4 sleeves and cuffs or ruffles, two different lengths for the skirt, a back button placket and, of course, pockets!

So, as usual, instead of finding inspiration on the high street, we have gathered some of the versions from the amazing team of CocoWawa testers! (send us an email to hi@cocowawacrafts.com if you want to become one next time) so that you get an idea of how all the versions look.

Ready? Let's start!

Long sleeve versions of the Plum Dress

The lovely Sue opted for a long sleeve option (Version A) of the Plum Dress. She also lengthen the skirt and added another tier. It looks amazing! So magical and perfect to stroll around paired with sandals during the Summer or with tights and boots during the colder months. Her fabric is from Pigeon Wishes.

The lovely Adriana, one of our Spanish testers, also opted for a long sleeve version using denim. I love it so much! You can get an idea of how cool it will look also for Autumn and Winter. You can even wear an oversize cardi or jumper on top to finish the look.

The amazing Alexis also chose long sleeves for this gorgeous version of the Plum Dress. The colour of the fabric is absolutely beautiful and it suits her so well. In love!

Beautiful Jen went for another long sleeved version of the Plum Dress that she wants to use as a cover up when she goes to the beach. The colour works so well on her and I just love this look! She also changed the back button placket and incorporated a big opening with a little button at the neckline.

No sleeves and ruffle options of the Plum Dress

Sophie has such a cool style and I love how she usually uses fabrics with a natural fiber base. For the Plum Dress, she went for this amazingly beautiful version. She opted for a more simple design, leaving out the ruffles (which you can do too). I particularly like how the different direction of the stripes make the dress move in a beautiful way.

Sharlene is such an amazing maker who also does alterations. I enjoy so much strolling through her Instagram where she shares all the garments she sews! Here you can admire her version of the Plum Dress on this navy and white checked fabric. I also like a lot how the feminine style of the dress paired really well with chunky boots.

Now, let's talk about Emma's version! How beautiful is her fabric from Pigeon Wishes and how cute does she look?! I just love it! Those ruffles just give the dress another cute detail and as you can see almost all testers went for them :)

The lovely Adriana, that you found up on this same post wearing a long sleeve version of the Plum Dress, also made the one for Summer. She chose the most beautiful mint double gauze fabric and I couldn't be more in love with her version!

Ángela first made this version of Plum as a long blouse. She wasn't happy with the fit, so she then hacked the pattern and made a version she was more comfortable with. We will show you her version on a different post and how another tester also went for a blouse / top option.
