Guest Post: Bamike's Plum Dress

Autumn dress sewing pattern

Hi Stitchers! We are back again with another guest post and with the lovely UK based sewist Bamike. She has made an incredibly lovely Autumn version of the popular Plum Dress sewing pattern. Because dresses are not only for the Summer!

She chose this beautiful viscose from Atelier Brunette in navy and that you can find at Sew Me Sunshine. So perfect for the colder months! You just need to then pair it up with a chunky cardigan or even a jumper. Oh! And some wool tights and a pair of boots?

Here, Bamike opted for adding a little belt to make the fit closer and it looks perfect as well.

Regarding the changes that she made on her Autumn dress sewing pattern, she slightly lengthened the dress and the sleeves to make it work better for her.

She also told me that she doesn’t always get along with her sewing machine when it comes to buttonholes (we have all been there!), so she decided to cheat by using poppers and pressing jeans style rivets to the outside.

If you fancy making a Plum Dress as well, you can find the pattern here and a tutorial on how to sew it on our YouTube channel.

Hope you liked her version and see you very soon!

Happy sewing,

Ana
